A State of Trance and love poems

This isn't going to be anything serious, life-altering, or in any way inspiring. I just feel like typing out for some reason, so if you're expecting anything more than just gibberish, don't bother reading this :D

Currently, I'm listening to Trance; Shog, Aly & Fila, Van Buuren, Rank 1, Dash Berlin, and everyone's favorite, Tiesto. I just find it cool how a song doesn't need much or any words for that matter, to have a certain vibe to it, and even if you weren't aware of this vibe, the beat and rhythm still tends to make you feel a certain way. It's a bit weird and different that I'm listening to such music when I'm typically a lyrical guy, the type to quote lyrics and analyze it for some meaning, and perhaps even apply it to a certain situation. But now I've realized that you don't need lyrics to relate. I was told that communication is 77% body language, and the rest is unequally shared by tone of voice and words, tone having the bigger portion. I've learned to apply that concept in my life, and I think everyone else should too, "It's not what you're saying, it's how you're saying it". They say you make out a 1st impression of someone within 3 seconds of observing them. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you master such an artform well enough, you'll be an actual master of disguise and could fool anyone into thinking you're an AMOG of some sort.

The following is a poem I had to "analyze" and "interpret" for my writing class;

love poem
by Linda Pastan

I want to write you
a love poem as headlong
as our creek
after thaw
when we stand
on its dangerous
banks and watch it carry
with it every twig
every dry leaf and branch
in its path
every scruple
when we see it
so swollen
with runoff
that even as we watch
we must grab
each other
and step back
we must grab each
other or
get our shoes
soaked we must
grab each other

Why do we analyze and read love poems in school? They say everyone develops their own idea and perceptions of "love". I don't think someone can write a love poem if they didn't have their own idea about it in their head, however they may have developed this idea; through observation or personal experience. Now, being someone out of the picture, how am I supposed to understand this type love nor try and interpret it? I think it's a bit disrespectful towards the author and whoever they wrote the poem for if we do this. Who are we to interpret this canvas carefully painted with words carefully chosen to carefully portray feelings? It's something personal that is a whole different language to someone else, that not even "close readings" can interpret. When someone tells you to carefully read a poem before analyzing it, odds are you didn't because you ave up after the 1st time, cause you "didn't get it". Whenever that happens to me, I believe it is this theory in effect. As you would never allow anyone to define who you are from what they see, never let anyone define love for you, or try and define their idea of love. At the end of every poem reading, well seem to say the same thing, "I don't get it", and yet we read it over and over again to try and put meaning into it, stop blinding yourself with others idea of love, give up and find yours.
